Maya Culture



The Maya culture is another way of analyzing the world and it is phenomenal.

The Maya culture talks a lot about this part of initiation! It talks about marriage and that men and women have different minds.

As I already mentioned these topics in initiation and marriage, I will talk about another point proper of the Maya culture that is its calendar!

The Mayas have an own calendar!

In the Maya calendar we have a year as being 260 days. It is divided in Nahuales (months) and Tones (days). So, the months goes from 1 to 20 and the days from 1 to 13.


The Nahuales are:

Ajpu

Kat

And the Tones are:

For us to do the calendar, we will associate each day to a month, as for example, I was born on the day “E 6”.

We go walking in the line of the Nahuales and in the line of the Tones too. When we reach the endo f ti, we repeat it all.

As example, we could have:

B'atz 1 – E 2 - Aj 3- Ix 4 – Tzikin 5 – Ajmaq 6 – Noj 7 – Tijax 8 – Kawoq 9 – Ajpu 10 – Imox 11 – Iq 12 – Aqabal 13 – Kat 1 – Kan 2 – Kame 3 – KEJ 4 - Q'anil 5 – Toj 6 – Tzi 7 – B’atz 8...

The Nahuale associated to the Tone 1 is that defines the month energy.

Realize that when we reach the end, the counting started from zero and as the number of months is higher, the counting of the number returned to zero, but the month counting no.

Other interesting point is that each Tone has a characteristic, a property and so each month! Then, each combination of Tone and Nahuale will have an own energy. Like it was a horoscope.
